Biography

Born in upstate SC and based around the Greenville/Asheville/Atlanta area, Ethan is a bass player and composer who excels in versatility. Fully capable on electric and upright, he has extensive experience in jazz, funk, rock, jam bands, pit orchestra, and classical music, plus lots of interest in traditional Cuban music, classical Indian music, and electronic music (with his extensive pedalboard). His musical style blends these many interests, all tied together with a tight groove, melodic sensibilities, and a deep knowledge of harmony. He is a member of the band Hoto, and has played with musicians like Jeff Sipe, Mike Stern, Chris Bullock, Isaac Hadden, The Greenville Jazz Collective, Carson Moore, and many more. His own debut album is set to release late Febuary/early March of this year!

Why this site? (instead of a more modern one)

In a world of sterile squarespace websites and AI slop, I thought it would be fun to make my website a little more interesting and do it myself in HTML. I was partially inspired by Wayne’s This and That, which I found while looking up stuff about making your own kaleidoscopes and is truly a wealth of knowledge. On this section of the site I will have all of my music stuff, but if you click on something I have not yet determined it will take you to the other sections, where I talk about hobbies and interests. These will include things like:

• And More!
