I will make no comments on strings, since I am still experimenting to find what works best for me.
Some notes on setup: I tend to keep my electric bass action medium high for the tone and dynamics, and my upright bass action on the lower side, high enough that I can still dig in, for playability and flexibility.
Gear

Basses:
My main 6 string bass is a Paddock model by Maruszczyk Instruments. My other most used basses are my upright, which is a fully carved Eastman, and my Ubass, which is the Kala Nomad model. I have also been known to play an MTD Kingston AG6 and my Fender American fretless PJ bass.
Pedals:
They aren't giving me free gear or paying me so I am not going to type out the names of all of these pedals, but if you are curious what I use, this is it. I couldn't get the image to uplaod in higher quality, so feel free to DM me on instagram or email if you have questions about what pedals are, how I use certain pedals, or how I get certain sounds. I will give a special shoutout to the Underground Accelerator by Sushi Box Fx since it is a small company and it is my most used pedal. It is a tube preamp that I use for every gig and is very reasonably priced.
